Aftercare instructions

Post Peel treatment In order to achieve the best results from your Chemical Peel we ask that you follow the instructions below. Your recovery time will be influenced by the type and strength of peel treatment you have and individual skin response. Your skin care professional will have discussed after care with you. You may experience some reddening/ tightening of the skin this can last several days. Most people experience some peeling of the skin after approximately 48hrs. Your skin may not noticeable peel at all but this does not mean you have not benefited from the treatment, you may notice a lot or just slight shedding of the skin this can last up to about a week.

  1. Do not apply make-up for 48hrs after which mineral make-up is preferable.
  2. Do not pick, peel or scratch at your skin.
  3. Avoid direct sun exposure on the peeled area.
  4. Avoid waxing/hair removal, or other facial treatments for 2 weeks.
  5. Avoid heat, sweating, saunas, exercise, swimming for 48hrs.
  6. Does not use exfoliate for at least 5 days or longer depending on healing rate.
  7. Apply a sun block during the day.
  8. Does not use face wash cloths or rub the skin with a towel.
  9. Increase water intake
  10. Only use the after peel products bought from the skin care professional. After care products may include any of the following- Slikses – Moisture and seal after aggressive peels prevents skin drying out, apply as required. Hidraloe Plus – Helps repair and soothe all skin types apply as required. Rose Hop Oil Ampoules/Mask – Encourages skin to regenerate soothes and moisturises, use nightly. Sunscreens SPF80 – Protection from the sun, use before going outside. Hidraven – Gentle wash off cleanser, use twice a day. Mandelac Scrub – Gentle scrub, can be used after approx 5 days, twice a week to encourage the final skin shredding. It is advisable you to return to your skin professional a few days after the peel so they can check your skin reaction.
